CIVITAVECCHIA

Civitavecchia is a port city dating back to prehistoric times, located just 50 minutes from Rome. The city is rich in history and a stop here will give you unique and pleasant moments. Forte Michelangelo is a Renaissance fortress named after Michelangelo, who designed it, the bastion of San Sebastiano has a secret underground tunnel that once served as an escape route. There is a Jewish quarter that houses an infinite number of bars, cafes and restaurants, the main street Centocelle is a pedestrian area full of shops and boutiques, nearby there is an interesting market of fish, fruits, vegetables and culinary specialties. Don't miss the well-preserved "Terme Taurine", renowned for its therapeutic properties. Despite the cultural interest of Civitavecchia, the half preferred by all cruise passengers who land here is Rome, the capital of Italy and the cradle of world culture.
Rome is now a living museum with splendid works of art, surprising architecture and a wealth of ancient sites. One of our favorite things to do is take a long walk through the streets of the city letting us continuously overlook by architectural attractions on the right and left without a specific destination and letting us be carried away by the scents and colors of the capital of the old Roman Empire.  However, if you don't have much time, we recommend a targeted visit to a limited number of places to prevent the excursion from becoming too tiring. If you have little time we recommend and you are not a walker, the most valid alternative are city tours with open buses. This is also a good way to get an overview of the city especially if it is the first time.
